Why is it difficult for businesses to recruit and retain employees?

Many businesses (especially Startup & SME) seem to be facing many difficulties when recruiting and retaining staff while human resources play a key role in helping companies develop and increase revenue. So what is the reason why finding talent becomes difficult:

1. SALARY:

The main reason for not being able to recruit personnel. Start-up enterprises & SMEs often have a rather limited salary fund to pay high salaries (will usually have a hard salary or a fairly low base + a certain commission rate). Many positions currently have a salary based on ability (usually positions related to business, sales, ...) so businesses often focus on this issue to recruit because they think the basic salary is not an important factor. However, in a society where the current cost of living is escalating, combined with unclear internal information of the business, it is very difficult to attract interested employees with a low, basic salary. .

Because of the above reasons, businesses need to calculate a reasonable salary fund and provide mechanisms equal or higher compared with the common ground to recruit and attract personnel.

2. HUMAN RESOURCES:

Many businesses often do not have personnel in charge of specialized recruitment or transplant into another position such as HCNS to optimize costs as well as reduce unnecessary departments. However, in the current era of market opening, recruiting will become difficult when there is a shortage of high-quality personnel and great competition between companies. To solve this problem, enterprises need to establish a specialized recruitment department to improve recruitment capacity to meet the continuous human resource needs when the company grows.

In another case, there are personnel in charge but the expertise and skills are not enough, leading to inability to compete with recruitment personnel from other companies. It is best for businesses to invest in personnel to go to intensive training courses in actual recruitment or to recruit skilled and specialized personnel from the very beginning.

3. POLICY:

Recruiting people is not easy, but keeping people is even more difficult. Mr. Nguyen Van Dat CEO & Founder X Hunter, a HeadHunt company shared: “Many customers, when asking for a certain position, want us to limit the clarity of their benefits: Contract, insurance, bonus, etc. … Because most of these companies often do not have this policy or are not clear.”

From this, it shows the lack of transparency and seriousness of some businesses today. Correct because these policies make employees not trust to stick with the company for a long time

According to statistics each year, Vietnam has 120,000 newly established enterprises + millions of old enterprises in operation. All businesses have a need to recruit personnel, creating a very vibrant labor market picture, helping to create millions of jobs for workers. However, it is because the recruitment demand is so great that the competition becomes fiercer than ever because every company wants to find quality personnel to meet the job. To improve competitiveness. Enterprises need to focus on finding out the internal and external causes, in combination with providing a reasonable mechanism, policy, and working environment to RECRUIT and KEEP HUMAN RESOURCES.
